Degree verification: frequently asked questions

Can’t find your answer? WhatsApp us on +91 80888 80630.

How can I verify my degree certificate in India?

Send us the certificate, marksheets and the purpose of verification. FACTS contacts the issuing university or board through the right route (written request, RTI, in-person visit or direct verification) and gives you a report with a clear Green, Red or Orange result.

Can you check whether a degree is genuine or fake?

Yes. The only reliable answer comes from the university that issued it. We obtain the university's confirmation and record exactly what it says, so the result can be shown to an employer, embassy or court.

Do you verify private and deemed universities?

Yes. Private and deemed universities are not covered by the RTI Act in the same way as government universities, so we use written verification or an in-person visit for them.

Who uses this service?

Students and graduates who need proof for a job or visa, employers and HR teams screening candidates, background-check companies, and people who are unsure whether the institute they studied with was genuine.

How long does verification take?

It depends on the university and the route. We tell you the expected timeline for your university before you pay. Priority verification is available when there is a deadline.

What documents do I need?

The degree or provisional certificate, all marksheets, a government photo ID and the signed verification authorisation form. For some universities we may also ask for the consolidated marksheet or migration certificate.

Why is the signed authorisation form (VAF) mandatory?

Universities release a student's records only with consent. Without the signed form the university will not respond, so we cannot issue a result without it.

What do Green, Red and Orange mean?

Green means the university confirmed the document is correct. Red means the university's records do not match, or it denies issuing the document. Orange means the university could not confirm or deny, and the report explains why.

How do I pay and track my case?

We confirm the fee on WhatsApp and share a secure payment link. After payment we create your case login, where you upload documents, sign the form, see each step and download the report.

Can someone else verify my degree, like my employer?

Yes, with your signed consent. Employers and screening companies regularly use FACTS to verify candidates.

Can you verify private university, distance or one-sitting degrees?

Yes. These are the cases where experience matters most. Private universities are usually outside RTI, so we use written or in-person verification, and we check the mode and year against university records.

How long has FACTS been doing verification?

FACTS has 16+ years of experience in education verification with Indian universities and boards, and is ISO Certified for Quality Management and Information Technology.

Where is your office?
