Distance Degree Verification
Distance, correspondence and online degree verification
Distance and online degrees are valid when they are offered properly, but they are checked closely by employers, embassies and recognition bodies. FACTS confirms your distance degree with the university that issued it.

What gets checked for a distance degree
- That the university issued the degree and has your enrolment on record
- The mode recorded by the university (distance, online or regular) and whether it matches the certificate
- Course, year of passing and marks or class as recorded
- Where relevant, the study centre or region you enrolled through
Mode matters. A distance programme printed as “regular”, or a course a university was not permitted to run in distance mode, is a common reason for a Red or Orange result. It is far better to find this out yourself, privately.
Routes we use
- Government open universities and state universities: written verification or RTI
- Private universities with distance programmes: written verification or an in-person visit
- Requests from employers or agencies: direct verification to the requester

Questions about distance degree verification
Is a distance degree valid for jobs abroad?
It depends on the university, the approvals for that programme and the country or employer. Verification with the university is the first step, because every assessor starts there.
My certificate does not mention distance mode. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily, but the university records will show the mode. We report exactly what the university confirms so you are not surprised later.
Can you verify old correspondence degrees?
Yes. Older records can take longer to trace, and we tell you before you pay if a university is known to be slow.
Tell us the university and the purpose. We reply with the right route.
Send a photo of the certificate on WhatsApp. No obligation, no automated bots.
